Hi, I'm Jun
I’ve been playing golf since I was a kid. I stepped away from the game as a teenager and only picked it back up at the fruitful age of 26 — and that’s when I really fell for it. Coming back to golf as an adult, I started to appreciate the sport deeply and realised just how much I’d missed it.
I won’t pretend I’ve travelled the world and played every famous course out there. But I’ve had my fair share — including some questionable ones, and others that genuinely tested the limits of my game. That mix is actually what led me to build this site. I kept wishing someone had written an honest, in-depth review of these courses, so I’d know which ones were worth challenging myself on and which to steer clear of.
Recently, I moved to Thailand, and I’ve completely fallen in love with the golf here. There’s always something new to play, and knowing I’ve still got a long list of courses left to experience is half the excitement.
It also means I’m not writing about these courses from behind a desk on the other side of the world. I’m here. I play here. And I know what it actually takes to plan a golf trip in this country.
Golfers Abroad isn’t a booking agency or a faceless travel brand. It’s just me — sharing the honest guidance I wish I’d had when I first started exploring golf across Thailand.
What Makes Golfers Abroad Different
Anyone can list golf courses. Here’s what I do instead:
Every course and every local recommendation on this site carries one of two tags:
🏌️ Played — I’ve actually been there myself. These are genuine first-hand accounts: my own experience, my own opinions, based on rounds I’ve played or places I’ve visited.
Researched Guide — I haven’t played this course or visited this place yet. These write-ups are built from verified facts, tournament records, and what other golfers consistently say — never dressed up as personal experience I don’t actually have.
I built it this way because I got tired of golf travel content that pretends to know more than it does. If I haven’t played a course, I’m not going to write as if I have. I’d rather tell you honestly what the research says than fake a first-hand review.

I tell you what’s actually worth your time and money, including when a famous course isn’t worth the hype. No fluff, no pressure, no fake reviews.
Real Trip Planning
Beyond the courses, I help you plan the whole trip — where to stay, how to handle transfers, and how to avoid the mistakes that ruin good golf holidays.
This list keeps growing
Right now, Bangkok and Pattaya carry my real first-hand experience — the local highlights, not the courses themselves yet. I haven’t played any of the specific courses featured on either page. Hua Hin, Phuket, and Chiang Mai are still fully Researched Guides, top to bottom. Every city keeps shifting to Played as I actually get out and play more courses and visit more of each place.
